I finally decided to stop waiting for foo looks to work in Win Me and just make do with the plain face. I found that the 0.8 final installed fine except that at the attempt to play the first MP3 it paused interminably (hardware investigation?) and ultimately froze crying.gif . I tried (fresh-) installing 0.8 beta 8 and, though the pause was very long (I minimized to check the system was still responding), once re-enlarged the file started playing -- and I've not stopped since! biggrin.gif I'm especially aware of improved stereo imaging compared to Winamp 5. For listening while doing serious work, it cannot be beat! wub.gif
I'm listening (to "Something to Do" - Depeche Mode) through my USB-connected Philips MC-M570 micro-stereo with their latest drivers; the computer is an 850 MHz Compaq Presario 1700US.
Would it be worthwhile unsure.gif to attempt installing the final atop beta 8?
(BTW, is the icon intended to be an alien or Gene Simmons? rolleyes.gif )

It sounds as if 0.8 Final tried to output using the default mode (or whatever was set in your config file.) but locked up in the process. Have you tried using Kernal Streaming, or WaveOut to see if you can output using those meathods?

Otherwise, you could wait for a little while, most likely you'll get a console warning, or in the event of a crash, technical details as to why Foobar crashed.

One could then post these messages here.

But if you can't get it working, you might as well just stay at the current beta version for now if you aren't having any problems.
