1. Directory linking
Being able to link a playlist to a directory, or even multiple directories, so it's essentially just browsing those directories. Meaning, if foobar is closed, files are added to the directory, and it's reopened, the playlist reflects those changes.

Similar to that, being able to monitor when files are added to directories.. so if a playlist is linked to c:\music\ and you add a new file, it is added to the playlist

2. Keeping track of play history.
I tend to leave foobar on random, and let it play songs at random all day. Sometimes though, it will play a few songs in a row that I really like, and want to here again. An easy way for it to step back and repeat would be awesome.

For example, let's say it just playing Song A, B, and C.. and I like B and C a lot.. being able to assign a hotkey to a command so it will go backwards and play the songs in the order it just did, would be awesome. Like, hitting F12 twice to listen to B and then C again.

Sorry if these are already possibe, I did not find anything!

For your 2nd example you can use foo_history. It should do exactly what you want. Just do a search for it on the forum.

You 1st idea sounds like a good idea but it could take alot or proccessing if you have a big collection and it has to scan it all.

just my 2 pence anyway

Install the special edition and

Components-->Histroy

I know the name is somehow tricky, sounds like "changelog all the way". huh.gif

IT IS the play history, as well as the job of locating the file can be done by simply clicking on the name.

Right, that was my main concern. The directory monitoring would be very easy though. There is an API in windows to do all the work for you. The first, it would be a nice feature for me, as I tend not to have a lot of mp3s at once.

The latter can also be handled by foo_shuffle, which can be configured in too many ways to avoid repeating tracks too often, or allow you to jump back and replay tracks. Unfortunately, it will conflict with foo_history.

Hmm, maybe I should integrate with it if it is installed... I think it exposes its own services, but I'm not sure...

Perfect.. thanks to both of you.

Can someone do the first request? I've seen people request it before, and it'd be very useful for those of us who like to keep their "EVERYTHING" playlists up to date smile.gif
