Just wanted to ask if anyone else is experiencing this. I use foobar2k as my main music player, and its on almost 24/7. The problem is that every few hours the foobar gui stops responding. I seem to be able to switch songs, but if i press any of the menu items the whole gui freezes and has to be terminated via either taskmanager or timeout. If i wait windows says something like "Program caused an error and will be shut down." And something about "user32.dll" (?) Also the logs or console show nothing, so its impossible to trace a faulty plugin... With that said, there's no problem just closing the program one way or another and then restarting it. It can also just be my system i guess...

Last time it crashed now the error dialog contained foo_ui_std. But i guess its just my machine then, since noone has replied.
Please state your system specs.

Anything wrong with this? I also use otachan's asio driver with the audiophile. Dsp chain is Soft Clipping Limiter -> Vol Control.
Are you using foo_audioscrobbler?
I had problems with foo_audioscrobbler when their server was down.

Nope, dont use audioscrobbler. The only thing i use that's not included in the installer is the asio output and amip for integration with mirc.
Hmm. In that case, you may want to try switching audio outputs or disabling the amip plugin and seeing if things improve. I'll try leaving foobar open for a really long time and see if I can get the same behavior without either of those installed.

Yep. This is well odd. Last night i did some performance optimizations to windows, like moving the swapfile to a different drive than the one with the windows installation (i have two identical WD drives), and disabling system restore etc. Now foobar has been running since last night, streaming radiomax.hu chillout, and seems to be going strong still...

I have the same problem, but it seems to have only started when my primary boot drive lost the ability to use DMA. I have no idea why - the slave on the same IDE port is happily using DMA, i've changed the cables and it still won't shift from PIO mode.

Something like that happened with my HD en ide2, I had to change it to ide1 in order to use it with dma.

I guess the conclusion to this is the the foo_std_ui can time out and/or stop responding under various conditions caused by windows or other programs. No big deal though.

Well now it is again. It has started to stop responding randomly again. Play/next/etc works until i try to click the menu or right click in the playlist, then it dies with the old "program has performed illegal operation" and something about user32.dll. Screenshot:

I really wish there was a way of debugging this.
