hi guys!

after a great recommendation to buy a aureon space sound card I am a bit happier with my sound setup.
but i have new problems now. i use vivanco pc speakers and while listening the produce a lot of noise. if i listen directly to the line-out sound with cans, there is no noise at all.
so, my question: what are the cheapest pc speakers to get (i don't need 5.1 or 2.1 - but if there are some cheap ones, they are welcome!) with good sound and which don't produce noise, so i can adjust the volume through hardware?
perhaps i have set up my soundcard wrong, because i have to set the volume really low, otherwise my ears would explode and there is also some noise..

thanx a lot!

Do you mean the volume pot on the speakers, or the windows mixer volume slider?

If you maximize the wave and general volume controls in windows, while lowering the volume on the speakers, is there still so much noise?

edit: actually, reading your remark about having no noise through headphones, I think it is a speaker problem.
Pairing the Aureon Space with 'the cheapest pc speakers' would be a waste. I can't think of any pc-speaker worthy of doing that, I must say.

I mean the system volume control.
if I set this slider higher than it comes to a crackling noise which comes from the electricity inside of the computer, I guess. and if I set it that low, I hear that much noise. but I guess that noise comes from my pc-speakers. I guess they have something like an amplifier built-in.
my setupp is, at the moment, a high volume in the system volume control and a low volume on the speakers.

i think so,too.
but is there something like an amp which enlarges my headphone-cable and wherewith i can adjust my volume?

and, the other question, does that crackling sound come from all the electricity inside the pc?

Having too high of a volume can just add noise. Try wave and master volumes in window's mixer set to 50% and then see where the noise level is.

With an Aureon Space, this should not be an issue if the card isn't defect.

In the sound control panel, mute any inputs/outputs you aren't using. as most cdroms do digital just fine, mute the CD-in for example. this cuts down on noise substantially.
neomoe
i have muted everything unnecessary already.
anyway - is there some good amp, which is not that expensive and you can recommend? is something like that necessary at all?
