What sound cards have hardware mixing buffers? I am MOST interested in the old ones that would be sold on EBay. However, information on new ones would be welcome in addition. I don't see hardware mixing buffers advertised for sound cards.

It seems that some cards advertised as hardware accelerated have no hardware mixing buffers. I have a Crystal 4281 that says it has DirectSound 3D hardware acceleration but I found out it has no hardware mixing. Therefore, in games it seems I get no less CPU utilization than a card with no acceleration at all.

The SB PCI128 has maximum 32 hardware mixing streams, 0.99¢ ain't bad...

Thanks for the reply. Are there hardware mixing cards of good value other than Creative cards? What sites would list information like hardware mixing for various cards?
