Recently I tagged all my songs that have albums, and left ones that I didn't know where they came from with no %album% field. Then I replaygain scanned all my files for multiple albums. Wonderfully, all the ones with no album ended up in the same "album." That's about 550 songs, and not at all what I wanted.

To fix, I needed to select all of my songs with no album field. It took me ages, but I figured out how to get the extended search to give me all my songs with no album field set. Let me know if there's an easier way; I couldn't find one documented anywhere, but I might not have looked in the right places.

Extended search format: [%album%]
Pattern: (leave blank)
exact

Hope this helps someone.

You can use all of the tagz functions in the "format" string.

E.g., using "$if(%album%,,z)" and then searching for "z" would also work.

Oh awesome. Somehow I got the feeling I couldn't use the functions. I tried them, with no result. Must have been bad syntax or somesuch.

Thanks
