Howdy y'all,

I was browsing in another forum today and saw mention of the Chaintech AV-710 soudncard, which is available for about 25 bucks. It uses the Envy 24HT-S chipset, and is supposed to have an excellent DAC, at least for stereo playback.

I've been planning on purchasing an M-Audio Revolution, but since all I'm going to be using it for it mp3 playback, I wonder if this card would provide comparable quality...

Anybody heard anything about or had personal experience with this card?

I don't have any experience with it, but after reading the head-fi thread, it sounds like a steal, especially if you only need stereo playback and not surround. Use the money you save towards a nice amp or pair of headphones.

BTW, your newegg link is pointing to the Revolution, not the Chaintech card.

Cool, I think I'm going to buy it. I was planning on getting an M-Audio Audiophile once I gathered the funds, but considering the price I think I'll just go for this card.
