i tried searching, but to no avail. i updated id3 tags for mp3s using a different tagger than the built in one in foobar, and now foobar just loads the stuff from memory rather than updating the tag, umm, database is off? and i dont know how to fix this

like originally it was: Artist - Album - Title
after i changed the title, it still loads the old id3 tag. help? thanks
WILU
Did you try "reload info from file" function? Right click on the song -> database -> reload info from file
aznx
ya tried, didnt make a difference =\
aznx
like the other songs i changed that i hadn't already loaded previously in to foobar showed it correctly, so i dunno sad.gif

Have you id3v2 tag reader plugin installed? If not then download it from:
http://www.foobar2000.org/foo_id3v2.zip
then repeat reload info from file...
aznx
mm its installed, or well was installed already, still no go
and i reinstalled it too.
WILU
Do you have tags in these files other than id3? (APE2 for example).
aznx
not that i know of, they're all strictly id3
WILU
Hmm don't know... Maybe nuke database will help?
BTW do you have foo_history.dll plugin installed?
WILU
BTW what software did you use to write these tags?
aznx
nuked, no go, database isnt even on..lol
is foo_history a bad thing?
mp3tagger 2.19, the other files i changed worked..lol

It may be a problematic plugin. Delete it and check if you can read these tags wink.gif
aznx
nope, it read everything, but still same as before:(
WILU
Strange... Foobar stores tags also in playlist files (*.fpl). Remove them and check again. If it will not work then don't know. Maybe your tagging application problem...
aznx
the thing is i didnt save it in a playlist..lol
and the mp3 tagger works..cause i did about 2600 songs, and the 200 that i had opened before, are the only ones that wont update:(

aznx

aznx

I'd suggest that you test a file with Case's Tag in order to see what kind of tags are present in file. I'm pretty sure an APE2-tag or invalid tag must be present.
aznx
case's tag?
The Link
http://www.saunalahti.fi/cse/html/tag.html
aznx
ah still nothing:(
The Link
So ... what tag types does this file have?
aznx
id3, ape2.0
The Link
If you have only one tag type and you already tried "Right click" --> Database --> "Reload info from file(s)" then I don't know where the problem is.

If you changed id3v1 tags but also have id3v2 tags (unchanged) in the file foobar2000 will only show id3v2 tags (if the id3v2 plugin is installed).

Just saw that you edited your post!!!
If you have ape tags in your file foobar2000 will only show these, which were most probably not changed in an external tag writing program!
So either you use foobar2000 for tagging or you remove the ape tags from your files (you can also use cases tag for that).
aznx
oh ok cool thanks =)

foo_history may cause tracks to stay in the database, if those tracks are stored in the history. It does however not prevent the loading of updated tags (the history file only contains track locations and some internal data from foo_history, but no tags). If you have any other problem with this plugin, please let me know.
