OK, this has got me... almost to the point of being pissed off. I mean, this was the reason i stopped using foobar the last time i tried it. I was hoping i wouldn't have the problem again. :/

Anyway, um. Not really sure how to describe the events that led up to this (because i have no idea what they were), but basically all my foobar settings have been completely erased. All my play lists are gone, my formatting strings are completely reset, my keys are reset, everything. Basically, what happened was, i logged off last night, in a completely normal fashion, and then i logged back in just now. I opened up foobar, and... bam, default settings. :,(

I'm guessing it's naïve to think i can recover my settings, but i'd still like to know if there's any explanation for why this's happened, so i can prevent it in the future. Am i not supposed to log out while foobar is running? I've done it before without any problems, so that seems questionable. Other than that, i honestly have no idea what the problem is. There're (what appear to be) some crash logs in the foobar directory (like a dozen files like failure_00000000010.txt), but i can't really make a whole lot of sense of them. Just says 'access violation' and 'unable to identify crash location'. Not very useful to me.

So could anybody explain why this has happened? I'm using XP with foobar 0.8. Furthermore, could anybody explain how this has happened? No matter what i did, why are all my settings erased? Shouldn't foobar keep its settings, like, in a text file or something? Or is this like Photoshop, where if i close the program with disregard to the alignment of the moon in relation to Jupiter it'll reset everything to default?

Any ideas would be very appreciated. :(

You wouldn't happen to have installed new Catalyst drivers lately, like just before the reboot?
I've experienced two config wipes with foobar2000, one on the 4.2 reboot and once on the 4.3 catalyst reboot.
I made really sure to close fb2k fully before rebooting, but all settings were nulled afterwards.

If you want to backup your config file, it's named foobar2000.cfg in your fb2k folder.

Hum. No, i don't recall installing anything at all during the whole session i was using it, much less new drivers.

In any case, i don't have a foobar2000.cfg file in my foobar directory (or any of its sub-directories)... but there is one in foobar's Application Data directory. Heh. Thanks for pointing that out, anyway.
