Hi,
Would it be hard to use a part of OggDrop to add options like resample, downmix to mono, high- and lo-pass or even normalize to LameDrop? I need an easy to use tool to encode files into MP3. But all the graphical tools are too cmplicated or are missing some important options. Things like resample or lowpass filters are already built in LAME so it just a matter of adding these options to the GUI. I would do it, but I'm not a good programmer :-(. Can somebody hel me, please? Vlada

I've been promising to do this for some time now. I'll do my best to get around to it this week.
John;
If you are going to be working on LameDrop anyway, could you also add some improvements to the tagging? Perhaps an option to have it prompt you for the data?
I recently used it for a dozen or so wav's and by the end of it I was wishing there was an easier way to enter the tag info other than going into it, setting the tags, dropping the wav, and repeating for each file.
If it had the option to prompt me for the info (or figure it out from the wav filename), then that would have been more convenient.
Still, that is freeping creaturism...

Once OggdropXPd is merged into LamedropXPd, you will be able to do
QUOTE
or figure it out from the wav filename
with the AUTO tagging feature. Test it out with oggdropXPd and see if you get the results you are wanting.
Been a long time since I've used OggDrop, so I downloaded it and gave it a try.
Yeah, that's okay. Although it needs to strip leading and trailing spaces from the derived tags.
It'd still be nice if the user could be prompted though. When doing a bunch of wavs, they may not all be consistant.
Perhaps add a 'preview' mode of the derived tags and allow the user to make corrections before the encoding is done.

Cey> You may try this software -
http://www.mp3tag.de/en/index.html. It is a free tag editor, which can write the tags automatically based on the filenames. It is the best tag editor i've seen. Give it a try. Vlada
Would it be at all possible to have LameDrop call a wavegain analysis and then apply the --scale automatically to LAME? Cause that would make my process soooo much easier!

(hey if i could code worth beans i'd do it myself)
p.s. I mean on an album basis, but per track I suppose would be a feature as well.

To do this, the files to be encoded would have to be notated in some way that they are from the same album. Either through AUTO Tagging or the source tags themselves, SOMETHING would have to tell the proram how differentiate between albums. It IS doable though.
