when I try to use ASIO output in foobar, i get alot of file format problems where it wont play.
I'm using 48khz resampling (which should work?) I tried others but no difference. And I'd like to use 24bit/24padded/32 etc, but only 16bit seems to work with this asio output.
Strange thing is, I'm using the same asio output version for winamp, and using 24/48khz like i'd want to use in foobar, and that works perfectly fine. So I'm kinda confused.
any help appreciated!

What soundcard do you have? Also, why would you want to resample to 48 kHz - do you have a soundcard that resamples to 48 kHz anyway (like an SB Live!)?

Audigy 2 platinum.
And I resample to 48 to avoid the internal resampling which supposedly is worse quality.
Ok i just read up that ASIO on audigys dont support 24bit or anything higher, strange that winamp works though.

Big queston is why ASIO? They are only desined for low latency. no real use to a media player.

I'm only reading all of these audio-expert-forums and taking advice from as many people as poss =)
so dont ask me! something todo with it skipping volume controls and it being a purer digital signal or something, i duno.
But then again I can use kernal streaming for that, but its buggy compared.
