Greetings!

I received my new PC a couple of days ago and wanted to make a copy of a DVD. The software I have installed is Nero 6, AnyDVD and Pinnacle InstantCopy 8 SE.

I decided to use InstantCopy for transcoding some DVDs because I have read in many PC magazines that its quality should be very good. Anyway, everything seems to run normally, but when the DVD drive (NEC 1300A) finishes writing (only tried on a TDK DVD+RW disc), the surface of the disc looks pretty unusual. There are a lot of rings, and none of the drives (not even my stand-alone DVD player) can recognize the disc. I will try burning on another type of +RW discs and also test with +R and -R(W).

Anyway, do you have any idea what goes wrong?

Unfortunately, I cannot upgrade the firmware of the device, because on the Inernet site NEC writes that the flash program will not work with OEM or bulk drives (and mine is an OEM version).

Regards,
Sebastian Mares

OK, I have tried the same thing with a DVD-R disc (Intenso) and also selected SPTI so I don't get into trouble with the Nero ASPI drivers and everything went smoothly.

anotehr solution, which I use only:

Just let IC8 output the pdi image to HD.
Then run pdi2iso.exe 8google9 --> http://www.mrbass.org/instantcopy/
pdi2iso_011.zip
, and you get an iso image, which can be burned by nero, or mount the iso by daemon tool, and u can view your dvd-image on pc before burning.
