Hi.
I've searched through forum, but could not finded solution, so I asume that not egzists.
Vorbis encoder via diskwriter works perfectly in terms of quality. Only one thing is wrong. When I try to recode AC3 to 6ch Vorbis, chanel order is wrong (only left is left, right is center, and rear chanels along with LFE are messed in way I don't remember wink.gif ) I know that this is libvorbis problem while ac3 have chanel order FL,FR,C,LFE,RL,RR and vorbis FL,C,FR,RL,RR,LFE (but this is only sugestion and it was never specified as standard).
My point: is it possible to create foo_vorbisenc with right chanell order, or add new plugin similar to MatrixMixer so we could set chanels manualy ? I'm not programer so I can only pray to someone for this tools wink.gif
Thx.

PS: I'm using foobar only for couple of days, but I already trashed winamp tongue.gif

I guess this could be looked into but if you're doing this for a film then you might find it easier to use BeSweet until this is looked into/"fixed". You can find BeSweet here. BeSweet seems to be considered the preferred option for film soundtrack encoding for use with videos.

That, or you can use foo_clienc with oggenc.exe, assuming it is designed to reorder 5.1 input to that "standard."

@superdumprob
BeSweet isn't good for 5.1 Vorbis encoding while it produces files with bitrate around 300kbps, so there is not to much space save comparing to 384kbps AC3 :|

@kode54
I'll try foo_clienc (if I find it wink.gif )

EDIT:
@kode54
I'm new here, so I didn't saw your nice plugins colection. I also se that there is AC3 decoder for foobar. What engnine you're using? AC3filter by Alex Vigovsky has implemented matrix mixer, and one winamp plugin based on this filter code. Is it hard to write foobar plugin (I mean for programer, which I'm not)? Maybe it is possible to create ac3decoder based on this filter, thus will provide ability to set freely chanel order. Pliiiiiiiz unsure.gif biggrin.gif

hydeus: I've just had a look and you can set the channel order in besweet and also you should be able to get it down to about 190kbps at the very lowest setting. That's all 5.1 Vorbis can manage as far as I can see.

Have you produce some file? Setings does nothing in BeSweet. You can set bitrate, but output file is far above seted value sad.gif And lowes bitrate I can set is 288 with q=0,001

I use liba52.

There are no plans at this time to port the matrix mixer to Foobar2000. In all likelyhood, it should be ported as a DSP component.

Good point: it should be DSP plugin. I'll wait for one biggrin.gif

I've forced to work with winamp input adaptor and in_ac3, so for now I've solved problem cool.gif
