I AM USING ADOBE AUDITION 1.0. I NEED TO KNOW HOW I CAN COMPRESS A WAV FILE OR A VOICE FILE.....WHATEVER FORMAT - HOW CAN I COMPRESS IT SO MY VOICE WILL SORTA COME OUT FRONT? CAN YOU GIVE ME STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS?

uhm... what do you mean? are you talking about speakers or something? that sentence doesn't make any sense to me...

3. I don't use aa, but I guess you have to select 'save as' and then the format.
you may want to read the manual for these kind of basic questions.

maybe this thread should be moved from aac general to somewhere else? mods?

if you mean "dynamic range compression" (i.e. compressing, limiting) you'll want to look at the built-in filters, "Dynamics Processing" and "Hard Limiting".

If you just mean compress to lossy, like an MP3, just file -> save as
