Sorry, nothing really new with this version. Just a teeny-tiny bug fix (the GUI correctly identifies the "layer I or layer II" error and informs the user accordingly-- it used to do this correctly, but I unwittingly broke it in version 1.1 and later).

I did, however bring the Help file up to date. Not that that really helps anyone on this forum, since you all know how to use MP3Gain already

But things have settled down in Real Life (new job, new house, no more family members have died this month, etc.), so I'll be making some more updates in the not-too-distant future. This release is kind of a "Hey, I'm still alive!" release.

I was curious if you site has had an increase in traffic recently. I was reading Blender (a music magazine from the makers of Maxim) recently and noticed MP3Gain was recommended by them. On page 80 of their April 2004 edition in the Digital Audio Guide article, one of the "Expert Tips" is, "CHECK YOUR LEVELS. Use software like MP3Gain (mp3gain.sourceforge.net) to adjust your files so they all play at the same volume."

Congrats. That is some pretty solid, even if tiny, medium media exposure.

Is there any chance for implementation of a 'Number of clipped samples' info option. This was discussed some time ago, it would make it easier to make a well-chosen compromise for some tracks that still clip at the desired gain.

Sorry, my release happened to coincide with a mirroring slowdown that SourceForge was having. I noticed that another SF program released that weekend was not immediately mirrored, either.

I haven't checked every single mirror of every single MP3Gain 1.2.3 file, but most of them seem to be working now.
