Full Version: Foobar plugin or another tool to burn MP3 playlist

I've had a good search around but can't seem to find a foobar plugin that will burn an MP3 CD (for my car MP3 CD changer) from a playlist. This would be extremely useful rather than managing my compilations by keeping physical duplicate copies of all the MP3s on my hard disk ready to burn.

Does anyone know of such a plugin, or another piece of software that will do a similar thing?

I did think that a CD burning application that resolved windows shortcuts would be quite a good way of doing this, but don't know of any that do.

I also read that iTunes could do this, but that there was a 650meg limit (I'm burning 700meg CDs), plus I'm not sure I want to install iTunes just for this purpose.

Any ideas? there must be something simple out there that will solve my problem!

Thanks in advance...

If you want to use foobar, there's a component to burn cd audio:

You will need Nero installed, because it uses its engine to burn cds.

You could try with Burrrn

If I understand correctly, I think he wants to create an mp3 CD (ie. a data CD containing MP3 files) rather than an audio CD from mp3 files. In this case, I don't think either foobar2000 or Burrrn can do this.

I would suggest you try burnatonce which can create either data or audio CDs from playlists. This works very well and is free.

Alternatively there is software such as MP3BR Imager which can create CD Image (.iso) files from playlists. I haven't used this for a while, but I believe it gives you a little more control over things like the file sort order on the disc, and other useful additions. The .iso files can then be burned to CD using most CD burning applications (burnatonce can also do this cool.gif).

iTunes can do this. It can create audio, data, or MP3 CDs from MP3 files. It's also completely free. Check it out.

Edit: Missed the part where you said you didn't know if you wanted to use iTunes. I'll have to test out a burn and see if it is limited to 650MB.
