Hello, just bought a Creative 30G Zen Extra and before starting to rip all of my CDs, I decided to do some research on the best way. So, I found a site called nomadness.net which in turn found this one. So, now I have installed EAC and LAME, and everybody on both sites is talking about this --alt preset thing, but I really can't figure out where I am supposed to type this in. I looked at all the settings, and there are only check boxes and lists. Also, I tried ripping a song real quick just to test. It seemed to work, and I could play it on Winamp, but I could not transfer it to the Zen Xtra. Please help!!!! Also, I tried looking at the setting up EAC tutorial, but the part on the bottom says not found on server. And I am getting not found when I try to go to http://www.ping.be/satcp

In EAC choose Compression options>External Compression. Make sure you've checked the box 'Use external program for compression' and select 'LAME MP3 encoder' from the 'Parameter passing scheme' drop -dowm menu. Then click the browse button and make sure that you have selected LAME.EXE as your compression program. Under 'Additional command line options' add a prest by typing '--preset standard' (for high quality VBR averaging around 190 to 220 Kbps) or '--prest medium' (which is good quality but averaging only 160 to 190Kbps and is recommended for portable players).
All this asumes that EAC has picked up LAME and you've gone through the EAC configuration routine.
