Anybody can help?

First my config: OS: Win XP pro (english) SP1
Soundcard: Audigy 1 with WDM driver.
Receiver with DTS decoder and digital input

I have many DTS audio cds. Some cd can be played with windvd thru SPDIF, others cannot... why? (strange white noise). I've tried many playes too. windvd, powerdvd, foobar2000 etc... all the same effect.

If my receiver plays a DTS audio cd, other cds why not? Any idea? diffrent DTS format??? what is the difference between discs?

I think the 'Pro' version of PowerDVD does DTS. The standard version doesn't. I can recall getting DTS to work on my system once.

Still haven't figured out how to make a DTS into a WAV file.. but meh.

Is it just us two that cant do this? To me, its a prize-offering situation, if someone can inform me of how DTS > WAV can be achieved

Hmmm. I tried DTSDEC.exe on rarewares and it can play files, but my receiver does not identify these streams as a DTS streams and remain pro logic mode.

If I forcing my receiver to DTS mode, I cannot hear anything...

If I converting these files to DTSWAV (with Besplit), than powerdvd can play files, but pitched higher. I think the reason is 44.1khz original stream played at 48khz...

So this way didnt work... Any idea?

Alright, I know this is a very late response, but I was doing some searches and this thread came up so I'm going to respond. I don't know if you still want the answer, but here it is:

The problem is that the sound card isn't doing bit-perfect output. The Audigy cards (as well as the SBLive cards) resample output to 48khz. It doesn't matter if you have one of the 24-bit cards with its utility to select your output sampling rate; the sound is still getting resampled.

When a DTS signal is resampled, the signal is destroyed. DTS CDs and wav files are considered a good test to verify bit-perfect output for this reason.

What you need to do (if you haven't done so already in the year and a half since this thread was started) is get a sound card capable of bit-perfect output such as the Chaintech AV-710.
