Hi,
ever since I've upgraded from WinAmp 2.81 to 5 (5.03), I cannot play my oggvorbis files anymore. I think I encoded them with the official encoder, not the GT3 one.
Is this a known problem?
Thx

Vorbis support is optional in the Winamp install and might not be installed with the typical install. Re-install winamp, choose custom install and select vorbis support. Then the world will be well again.
That's the weird thing:
the vorbis decoder is installed (Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v1.35)

Have you tried a "clean" installation (using a completely new directory to install winamp)? Perhaps there´s a 2.x/5.x file collision (wild guess).
Files encoded with GT3 are 100% Vorbis compatible.
Actually, I made a clean Windows and WinAmp install yesterday. Still not working.
Thx anyway

(it worked with the 2.81 vorbis plugins in the 5 plugin directory, but there must be another way)
Your Vorbis files have ID3 tags on them. From Winamp 2.90+ Winamp will not play Ogg Vorbis files with ID3 tags since that is wrong. You can strip them out using Tag and a few other programs.
Cheers,
gonna give that a try
It worked, thx again.

I threw Id3v1 on ogg files... played back fine in Winamp. The only reason I did it was so Kazaa would read track information.
ID3v2 breaks them, wasn't sure if ID3v1 did or not.
