Maybe you want to share your ideas with us to discuss them.

hm.. dunno, did he got my PM or e-mail, but case is about timings.

if i add huge quantity mp3-s to mp3gain, it shows down in the right corner how many files is loaded. is it possible to add that it shows also which file is currently being analyzed (1/254... 6/254... 167/254.. etc). next request is, that if i start analyzing, it shows somewhere in the GUI the starting time (i.e. Starting time: 17:36:34 (in 24h clock)) and it would be nice if program can show also Estimated time for analyzing (i.e. 2:12:07), and estimated ending time (19:48:41).. of course the estimated time and ending time are variable, because it calculates it all time. like if there is 254 files in analyze, 1 file is analyzed, time is 23 sec for that one, then ET left is 253x23=5819 seconds = 1h:36m:59s, ending time 19:13:53;... 19 files analyzed, time for thos is gone 6:20 (which makes 20 sec for each file average), then ther is left to analyze 234 files, 234x20=4680= 1:18:00 to remaining, ending time is 17:36:34 + 0:06:20 + 1:18:00 = 19:00:54;... etc if you understand what i mean. and when all files are done, it also displays the time, when analyzing is really ended.

another possibility is that it calculates the estimating time's depending on mp3-s length or its size.

Sorry, the mp3gain address at hotmail is continually barraged by more and more virus mails that constantly fill the Inbox.
In the "you get what you pay for" department, the filters on free hotmail accounts are woefully pathetic. If there was a simple message-size filter, the problem would be solved.
As it is, I think I'm going to be forced to add some sort of subject line filter and require that all messages have "mp3gain" in the subject or something like that. I'll still probably get spam, since the user name is also mp3gain, but it should cut out a lot of the viruses.

But enough of my e-mail woes wink.gif

Your request for "estimated time to completion" has been duly noted. It's been on my "To Do" list for a while, in fact.
It's a little tricky to give an accurate ETC. There are quicker ways to get a rough ETC (such as your suggestion of using file sizes to estimate how much work is left), but I just haven't done anything about it yet.

So, um, it's still on the "To Do" list. No guarantees on how long it will take to get to it, though. Sorry.

One thing I would like to see is the ability for WAV files too. The reason is I am having problems with Wavegain. I would much rather use your much nicer program.

see the other thread for some ideas.

Once again I would like to repeat that it would be very useful if mp3gain had a feature built in to report the number of clipped samples in a particular track. This would solve some rare hard-to-decide cases when clipping occurs even at 89dB or so. If the number of clipped samples is very small, it would be acceptable to leave it that way, instead of lowering the gain even further.

good point

and also it would be nice, if MP3Gain was in Shell menu. Possibility to change gain straight in win explorers window. Constant gain (+- 1,5; 3,0;.. ) and Track gain (to 90db; 85db; etc, user pre-defined)

OT: Can someone change the Subject to Mp3Gain feature's or smth
