Any recommended settings for various WMA conversions? I'm convering some fixed rate WMA files to OGG and what Q level should I used. For example I have a 16K 44.1kHZ Stereo file downloaded from a radio program so what Q should I use?

Basically the straight answer is, you should not convert these files at all.

Transcoding from one lossy to another lossy codec will always lead in quality loss.

These wma files are probably best left as they are.

This is the correct HA answer; transcoding is bad for you! wink.gif
And yes it is, and it should be stressed each time the issue is raised: Don't transcode unless you absolutely have to!
But still... maybe DavidHart have a spesific reason why he needs to transcode wma to ogg - and are willing to accept the price of lower quality & some artifacts. He might want to play the stuff on a *.nix box e.g.? Not much wma support on *.nix. Or something else, I wouldn't know. But his reasons for asking for help might be perfectly valid.
