Hi people,

Hope someone can help me, this is really bugging me..

Im using Cool Edit pro 2.0 and have recorded successfully (in Edit View) 15 dance tracks that i have mixed using my Technics decks. I then placed the (Cue tracks) to seperate the tracks.. They all show up correctly in the Cue list (beginning, end, length etc) I then went to save as Windows PCM (i tried it with and without save extra non-audio checked) The file saves fine and when i reopen it with Cool edit, its still the same with all the cue's in place...

My problem is, when i come to burn the wav file with Nero, it burns only as 1 track, not as 15 seperate tracks (which is what im trying to achieve)... When i put the disc in my cd player it shows as 1 track (all the cues show as index) which i can't access... sad.gif

Im probably missing something very simple here, but if someone could point me in the right direction i would be very grateful..

Thanks

CEP's cues seem to have little to do with the (track- or index-) indexes on audio CDs.

Somewhen I tried to copy indexes with the digital ins and outs of my soundcard, but this didn't work at all. (Copying indexes from CD player to my MD recorders and between them works perfectly.)
I don't remember if I've tried to burn cues on a audio CD, but probably I did and it didn't work.
So I guess want you want to do is impossible, you have to split the long file into single ones.

If you want to do this job with CEP...

Step 1: Right click on the time scale at the bottom of the waveform view.

Select Display Format: Compact Disc 75fps, Snapping: snap to cues and snap to frames

Step 2: NOW place your cues. They must be on CD frame boundaries - the ones you placed without the above settings in place won't be.

Step 3: Select each section of the file in turn, and Save Selection As... Track01, Track02, Track03 and so on.

Step 4: Load the tracks into your burner software, make sure disc-at-once burning is enabled, track gap=0, and burn away.

I thought there was an automatic way of doing step 3 (or else there was a script to do it) at the old CEP forums, but they're dead now, so I can't look it up.

FWIW a program called CDwave is much better for what you're trying to do.

Cheers,
David.

So you confirm, David, that there's no way to do what shunney originally wanted:
Getting CEP's cues on CD as track indexes?
