Full Version: Grabbing single-file FLACs (Mac OS X)

Hi all! Long time lurker, first time poster here.

I am trying to archive FLAC versions of some important CDs, but I am having difficulty finding the proper tools. I don't have a PC, so EAC isn't an option sadly.

What I want to do is rip into single-file FLACs and archive them on an external HDD. Do any of you have experience doing this on OS X? I would like something with which I could grab a CUEsheet, and rip the single file. While the archival is the most important part, any recommendations for an application I could use to transcode to multi-file AACs/MP3s/etc. would also be welcome.

I am familiar and comfortable with the command line, and even know a bit of C/C++, so if the solution is very technical, don't worry that I wont be able to understand. I looked around for some *NIX applications, but wasn't able to find anything that met my needs.

Thanks in advance.

I do this on linux in four steps:

1. use cdrdao to create a toc file
2. convert this to a cue file (there are a few tools that do this)
3. rip the entire cd as a single wav file with cdparanoia
4. compress with flac

I think all these tools work on Os X too but I haven't tried them. The whole process can be easily scripted.
