AdvaLAME is based on the OpenSource code of RazorLAME MP3 Frontend.
But AdvaLAME has some more functions than RazorLAME.

you can get it here

Downloaded and installed it since I like RazorLAME very much.

... AdvaLAME has 37 (!) loadable preconfigured presets, and LAME 3.95.1 as default encoder. Unfortunately there is no preset for --preset medium/standard/extreme. It comes with the infamous r3mix presets and cryptic preconfigurations like:
"-b 112 -m j -h --vbr-new -V 2 -B 320 --lowpass 18 --lowpass-width 0.9" or
"-b 80 -m j --vbr-new -V 3 -B 256 --resample 32 --lowpass 15 --lowpass-width 0 -q 3"
instead.
Nearly all switches can be accessed via checkboxes, sliders, buttons etc. ....
Not bad for experimental settings of experienced LAME users, but I suppose experienced users would rather prefer to set the command strings manually.
I doubt that this is a tool for unexperienced users who like to get the best results out of LAME.

I'd wish that s.o. would implement FLAC support for RazorLAME instead of 37 preconfigurations I'll never use! sad.gif

Oh, and I would like AdvaLAME to also let me add Monkey's Audio files to the list, as I have the modified 3.90.3 encoder supporting Monkey's Audio files.
High Fidelity
I haven't tried for AdvaLame yet, but sould be the same as for EasyLame or RazorLame...

To add monkey's support for "LAME 3.90.3 Modified and with APE & Cuesheet support", simply open the RazorLAME.dat in your editor and add the (bold marked) ape entries as shown below:

[InputFileTypes]
Audio-Files=*.wav;*.aif;*.aiff;*.mp3;*.mp2;*.mp1;*.ape
Wave-Files (*.wav)=*.wav
MP3-Files (*.mp3)=*.mp3
MPx-Files (*.mp?)=*.mp3;*.mp2;*.mp1
AIFF-Files (*.aif, *.aiff)=*.aif;*.aiff
Monkeys-Files (*.ape)=*.ape

Should work now ... wink.gif
