I'm developing a Foobar2000 control for the Mozilla Firefox browser, I'm wondering if anyone here uses it, and if they'd be interested to try it when I release it? I'm also thinking that I could include the currently playing song via the output of the Text Writer component. What do you guys think? Am I ok to use the default Foobar2000 play, stop, next, (etc.) buttons?

Foobar Controls.]

FF & Foobar2000 user here too - I would use it.
I'd definitely use it. You should know if you don't already that all extensions will need to be repackaged for Mozilla Firefox 0.9 because of the new extensions manager. I think it's required for the latest nightly builds too. This would be a great extension if it's done right.
I'm not sure I would use it but I do use FireFox. I don't see why you would want it in your browser... but I dunno, it just might be helpful.

Be warned that firefox is changing the way it handles extension for the next release (0.9) you should look at mozilazine forums for a post from ben (firefox dev) about the new format.
i'm using firefox as well, but i usually control foobar via kode's osd-plugin + hotkeys, so i probably wouldn't use it.
However, anything which helps firefox or foobar has my blessing ;-)

I just blitzed the almost never used Mozilla from my main system after installing Opera 7.5 final (it joined Opera 6.06 and 7.23), but I do use firefox as a secondary backup. Mainly a hotkey man though with a dislike for any kind of visual buttons, so such a plugin probably not get much use from me.
Another vote for yes

What I'd find helpful is a playlist in the sidebar, perhaps with ability to click on a title and have lyrics displayed in the main pane.
But, I like Opera 7.5 very much; I hate to have those users neglected. Maybe somebody in their community could be enlisted?

I believe Cusser is from the MozillaZine forums (unless there is another person named Cusser here) so I think he's totally got a handle on that.

I'm using Mozilla but since both projects (Mozilla and Firefox) are going to be one and the same in the near future (As soon as Firefox reaches the 1.0 release) it doesn't really matter anymore if you create a plugin for just Firefox.
Anyway, I would like to give the plugin a go as well.
P.s. why not just start a poll, saves counting the results ;-)

I use Mozilla Seamonkey. For me, includes some features not available in Firefox. But probably your Firefox component should be compatible with it too.

Alright everyone... I've put out a 0.1 release, which you can find at the following MozillaZine forum thread:
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=77408This extension is
not yet compatible with Seamonkey (The Mozilla Suite) since it'll require a fair bit of tweaking. I will be looking into this at a later date, but until then, anyone is free to submit their changes or port it over.
Please bear in mind that it's the first release and I'm somewhat limited as to how well I can test this on my own... Your feedback and bug reports (if any) are appreciated. The current version offers only the default buttons on the Foobar interface and does not yet display the currently playing track anywhere.
Regarding the repackaging: I'll get around to that as soon as the change is made within the Firefox nightly builds. I have many other extensions to alter as well, so I'm waiting until it's finalised before I start messing around.

Apparently Mozilla doesn't natively support customisable toolbars, so pretty much 95% of the extension would simply be ignored because it'd never be activated. I'll look at porting a later version if there's demand.

Works fine here. thanks.
I know this is an early version, but would it be possible to add a volume control bar ?
Can't seem to find a working link to this any more. Anyone have one?
