Hello!

I recently got Mandrake 10.0, great distro IMHO. Only thing I miss is my foobar2000, though I got xmms working with most of my music. (I don't want to get into the parts about trying to get alsa+dmix work and then switching back to crappy arts as nothing worked - any ideas for cmipci cards? smile.gif )

Okay, so I got mp3 (with mad, mpg123 does not seem to like apev2 tags), flac, mpc, ogg, and they're working well. Then, I tried to get mp4/aac playback, which I got more or less from the xmms-faad plugin. BUT! Version 0.4 does not support tags sad.gif 0.5 CVS source from the debian repository compiles, but is the same as 0.4 (according to the about screen). I also tried to compile from the faad2cvs (and official release), and the plugin compiles and shows up, but can not be selected from xmms.
(By compiling I followed the steps outlined here.

So, is there a tag-supporting plugin for xmms? (Or any audio player worth checking? )

Any ideas for me? smile.gif
Thanks!

ya, you could use lamip, also available at RareWares

btw
don't trust the about screen (but not much changed, other than making it dynamic)

Well, I managed to compile lamip, and it was pretty difficult. But the mp4 plugin only displays the same infos as in xmms, so nothing got better this way. But I have another player smile.gif

yes, i think it's the most wanted feature to enable the plugin read M4a tag... well i will try to add it for the next release
