I have some nero encoded m4a files that I am trying to get to play in media player classic. I downloaded CoreAAC 1.0b9 and installed it, but when i try to play the file in mpc i get an error message saying that i might not have the needed codecs on the system. Can anyone help me?

You need an MP4 splitter. Get 3ivX's

http://www.3ivx.com/download/windows.html

Thanks for the link. Now MPC shows that 3ivx audio decoder is the filter. Will i still be able to use the splitter when the 30 days runs up and let CoreAAC be the audio decoder?
Bonzi
Go to the dialog in the 3ivx splitter and check allow unsupported decoders. Then it will decode with CoreAAC and you don't have to worry about the silly 30 day thing.

Thanks, guys, for the prompt replies. I am up and running! biggrin.gif

AFAIK MPC has an AAC filter in it's newest versions, so you don't really need CoreAAC, but it still has no MP4 splitter build in.

Right. I found this out when i learned how to use 3ivx's mp4 splitter. CoreAAC and MPC's aac filter are both based on faad2, but when using CoreAAC the volume was lower than on MPC's built in filter. huh.gif
loophole
I thought 3ivx's AAC decoder didn't expire, only the encoder?

Well, there are royalties to pay for the decoder too :/
