Hi,

I have a problem with the album list.

Foobar2000 always remember old directories and files even if they don't exist anymore.

Why.

I nuke database. Install & install foobar2000 but nothing change...

I have to do every time in Preferences/Database "Remove dead entries from the database" and in Album List "Refresh".

WHY ???

Many thanks

"Read only" files ?

Hmh, make sure that when you nuke the dtabase that you also remove all playlists from foobar2000. Those files still beeing containwed in some playlist is the only reason I can currently think of to explaint this behaviour.

Also it seems you said you did a clean reinstall. Now that is really is strange, scince in case you have removed your entire foobar2000 directory there is simply no way that these files could still be stored or remembered.

"Enable user profiles"?

Anyhow, reinstalling foobar2000 is not the recommended way to get rid of dead entries in the database.

I can't tell you how much I agree with you on that one laugh.gif

tongue.gif I reinstall again foobar2000. Perhaps the other times, I forgot to delete the directory ( unsure.gif ) . So, the problem is resolute but nevertheless it's strange... huh.gif

Thank You wink.gif

PS : I forgot to say that I use the album list by directory structure...

Same problem here : some files dont want to be removed from database, they reappear after each restart of foobar crying.gif

Maybe it's a component's fault ? But which one dry.gif
Ruby
Do you have those "unremovable" files appear somewhere in your playlists? huh.gif
Zurman
No, I memoved all playlists, nuked 3 times the database, refreshed it, removed dead entries, etc.... But it was useless : there are some files (3-4 in each album) that go on reappearing sad.gif

Are you using foo_history? If so, have you tried resetting the history? I'm not sure, if foo_shuffle could have a similar effect, since it can keep a persistent history as well.

You are right, the culprit was foo_history.

Thanks !

Is there a dedicatd topic to report this bug?

The problem with foo_history is known, I only was to busy/lazy to fix it yet.
