This might be the wrong board to post this on, but since it's 'General Audio' I figured it was the best bet. Here's my problem:

I have a Creative Audigy sound card and just today purchased a Creative Inspire T5400 speaker system. When I try to play mp3/aac/apple lossles/whatever, nothing will come out of the center speaker. However, when I run the Creative speaker test through the 'Creative Audio HQ' the voice clearly comes from center speaker as it tests all 5 speakers. I've tried everything. All the speakers work because I've changed them around and such. I'm just wondering why it will work through the 'Audio HQ' but not with iTunes/Winamp/GTA3/etc.

Any ideas?

1) Audio is 2 channel, you have to use a 6 (5.1) channel DSP in order to get it to play out of all 6 speakers

2) The player doesn't have that feature enabled

3) You may not want to use this as it sometimes degrades sound quality.

Set GTA3 to 5 speakers in the settings (assuming it supports 6 channel audio)

I don't know if this makes a difference in what you're saying, but there are only 5 speakers. 3 front speakers and 2 rear speakers. However, theres a subwoofer as well. I'm not to knowledgeable about the intricacies of sound cards and such, so I'm just supplying info that might be useful.

6 channel refers to 5.1, or 5 speakers (front left, center, front right, rear right, rear left in clockwise order) and the 1 represents the subwoofer.

5 + 1 = 6

6 dedicated channels (such as in a movie)

Thanks for the explanation! smile.gif
