I have a station on live 365 and recently decided to switch from Fraunhofer 56 k/bits to 32 k/bits mp3 pro so I could get more tracks onto my package and also to be available to dial up listeners. After using the trial version of the mp3 pro codec in Nero which I was perfectly happy with and had no problems with either I purchased the full enocder.

Blimey. I have nothing but trouble. It always crashes Nero on any attempt to encode a wav file or from CD. Not even uninstalling, reinstalling, deleting registry keys etc is having an effect.

Anyone else using this codec and Nero and are you having any problems.? Or did you manage to solve any problems?

All other codecs work fine and I am hedging my bests that the encoder they sent me is corrupted but I cannot confirm this and Ahead's Support have not yet got back to me.

I am running a PIII with XP Professional SP1 512mb RAM.

Cheers.

Does the internal speaker make any noise at the beginning of the encoding process?

I am asking because I sometimes have this problem, too (with the demo version, though). The internal speaker starts making noise, then Nero crashes while attempting to read memory at 0x00000000. I sent an e-mail to Ahead a couple of months ago, but never received an answer.

I'll forward this problem to people in charge of plug-ins.

Thank you Ivan. Can I PM you my e-mail to give to them?

No it does not do that. It dies when it finishes encoding one track and tries to move onto the next mainly. On some cases it does not even manage to complete the first track. I will force the error again and copy Windows XP error report.

Yes, or even better drop me an email.

I informed relevant people about this issues.

Request for clarity ..sorry.
You are using Nero as the encoder "front-end", yes?
If so, what version of Nero (Burning Rom?)?

Thanks, tec

Hi Tec,

To confirm I am using the latest version of Nero as per Ahead's site. This also happened with the previous version as well (I upgraded to see if that solved the problem). I am using the options under the extra's menu to encode and save tracks.

Thanks!
