I did an Internet search to see how stable the 6fire's drivers were and found on google groups numerous complaints about the DMX 6fire and Windows XP. It seems the 6fire has a "pop and click" problem w/ certain chipsets when XP is not installed as a "standard PC" (the card apparently needs its own IRQ and I know XP likes to intermingle IRQs between video and sound). Most of the rants were prior to Aug, 03, however, the release date of Terratec's newest drivers (v. 5.40). I was wondering if the new drivers cleared up this issue or if I should still be weary of using the 6fire LT with XP? thanks for an info/first hand experience.

Looks like it still shares IRQ, but I haven't had any problems with sound quality.

I just got one too and it is also sharing an IRQ on my system. First it shared with the videocard so i moved it to another PCI slot. Now it shares with SATARaid controller which i don't use.

It's still kinda weird that it just doesn't take an IRQ that isn't used...

I haven't played with it much so far. ATM I'm trying to get ASIO working with Reason through the digital out on the breakout box, it doesn't seem to want to do that either dry.gif . But like i said, i haven't fiddled with it for a long time. Things might get better soon.
