I added replaygain to an album of mine with Foobar2000 and when I went back into iTunes I noticed that the album art was wiped out. I then tried using the Optimize MP4 component and that didn't fix the issue. Do I have to add the album art AFTER I add replaygain? If so that would be a big inconvenience to me as I have already tagged all my albums with album art. Can Foobar be fixed to not wipe out the album art when adding the replaygain info to the tags of AAC files?

foobar clears the old tags and rewrites them from scratch, at least for MP3s. I assume other formats are handled the same. Since foobar does not acknowledge pictures in file tags, i'd guess they'll be deleted if you wrote them there. I'd save album art as a seperate file, which generally makes more sense then adding pictures inside of all your audio files.

How would you save the album art separately with iTunes? Just place it in the album's directory? Would iTunes still recognize it?
