At the moment to me, in terms of quality and encoding speed (speed on a PIII500 is a topic) I use the following for my car stereo:
-V 5 -b 112 --athaa-sensitivity 1 --vbr-mtrh
My idea was, as V5 uses q3, to improve quality with q0. The documentation says, q0 is MUCH slower.
It is NOT.
Is there a difference in the new vbr method? The encoding speed was about the same (3.5x) like with q3, the resulting file just 10 kb smaller (on a 5 MB mp3 file)
