We were finally able to get things moved over to the new server today.
Although there may be a few quirks at first (be sure to let me know), things should run much more smoothly from now on. It will take awhile for the domains to propogate to the new servers, so in the meantime I've setup the old server to redirect to the proper ips.
Also, for the moment, the wiki is down and has not been moved over yet to the new server yet. Hopefully this will happen soon though.
Finally, I want to apologize to everyone for all of the problems we've been having for the last month or so. It's been particularly difficult for me considering that I'm really the only one handling the server stuff, and I simply haven't had time to keep things down as well as I would have liked because of school and other academic projects. JohnV and the others have done a good job of trying to hold everything together in the meantime, though I know it's been frustrating at times for both them and for all of the rest of you guys.
Although I haven't been posting nearly as much these days, and my participation has been reduced, I just want to say that I haven't forgotten about this community

I'm going to keep trying to do my best to run things, and hopefully my efforts in the coming weeks will be better than they have in the past few.

Oh, and finally, we will probably be upgrading the forum software in a few days when the final version is released. The new software is quite nice, although there's no portal for it yet. We'll have to figure out what we're going to do about that in the meantime...

WOW!!! There's so BIG speed increment! Everything is loading faster. Now browsing HA even via dial-up is a breeze.

Thank you dibrom, and mod's for all of the efforts you all exert and many hours you voluntarily give, not to mention money spent.
And to all of the posters who make HA such a blessing.

No troubles to speak of thus far. I'm unable to comment on speed.
Thanks, tec

For all: it apears that there is a cache problem with the foobar2000.org site so if it looks wrong to you you should reload and/or clear the cache. That should fix things.

Yeah, it's great that we have the new server finally. But I think it's been more difficult for me, being in constant ready state, rebooting the server 1-2 times a day, handling all the complaints etc. etc.
I hope this finally ends now, cause I was almost ready to pop...

Right now both hydrogenaudio.org and foobar2000.org give me a time-out, I can only reach these sites by typing the IP address or getting them from the history.
BTW, this is not a complaint, this is a report

Also just reporting

Have also had issues with timeout when connecting to HA lately but it works now.
I guess this is expected, just reporting it in case.
Dibrom, JohnV (and the others behind the scenes?) do a great job, please keep it up, it's appreciated.

Where are you hosted now? Which company? Looking good ... speed and everything
There's been a slight problem with the domain not transferring over as fast as was expected. Some people are able to access the site by hostname already, but for some others, their DNS servers haven't updated their records yet. It might take a little more time, but it'll work eventually. In the meantime, the site will stay accessible by the ip.
Just a note for the people having problems with getting to the actives topic page (link points to ha.org).
you can find it here.
http://209.152.181.168/~hydrogen/index.php...&CODE=getactiveall links can be made to work by replacing
http://www.hydrogenaudio.org with

It appears the authoritative name servers for hydrogenaudio.org may be to blame. I just finished writing a recursive DNS server for my networks class and tested it on hydrogenaudio. Both name servers are found, but neither are responding to DNS queries at the time I am writing this. Both ping successfully however.
The authoritative name servers found are:
ns1.animus-facticius.org, 64.246.62.80
ns2.animus-facticius.org, 64.246.63.97
Edit: these may indeed be the old servers, in which case some of the higher level .org name servers have not updated yet.
I'm in Sweden, DNS isn't updated here [either]. When I couldn't go here for a few days, I went to netcraft to see what was up and saw that you've changed both provider and server.
Tip of the day: When I knew that I did a "dig +trace hydrogenaudio.org" and "dig +trace www.hydrogenaudio.org" and that cleared things right up.

Is is possible to add an entry for HA temporarily to the hosts file? If yes, how, exactly?

Never thought that the DNS system can be such a PITA...

Hello all,
old server ns1.animus-facticius.org (.80) had a very long TTL on the A record (week or so) so it will take a week to expire itself from the ISP's cache, before it will get the new IP (.168).
Those of you who already seen the new IP, and can access HA correctly, can thank their ISPs who ignore such mis-configured long TTL's and dump the cache sooner.
btw, foobar2000.com is still missing from the new ns1.animus-facticius.org (.168) server, please readd it,
Thanks

Yes, it's possible. You only have to add the following line to the host file in %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc :
209.152.181.168 www.hydrogenaudio.org
cya
No redirect happening for me in the UK.

If it wasn't that someone just sent a PM, I would still be thinking that the servers were down for the last 4 days!!

Is there a similar fix for www.foobar2000.org or forums.foobar2000.org?

Seems to be a country wide issue here in the UK. I thought HA was down too, and again for me if it wasnt for the PM, and the fact i still had the ip in my history alerted me to the problem...
EDIT: Now works in the UK for me...

While hydrogenaudio.org is resolving just fine, the whole site has been screwy for the past day or so. Whenever I try to click on a link on the front page to an "active topic," I get taken right back to the front page. If I go to the forums index and open a thread, I get taken right back to the front page. If I attempt to go to the next page in a thread, I get taken right back to the front page, etc., etc. If I replace the "http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/" part of the URL of a thread/topic with the IP/~hydrogen/ then it works, but of course clicking next or whatever will take me right back to the front page again.
