I've always liked the idea of wireless headphones but wasn't sure if the quality was good enough for the price. Does anyone use these? And if so could you recommend a pair that has reasonable audio quality and doesn't cost a fortune? My last set of headphones that just broke after many years of use was nothing high end just a relatively cheap pair of Sony "digital reference" headphones - so when it comes to audio quality I'm probably not overly picky. Thanks.

I have old pair of Philips HC550. Well, I thought their quality was quite enough for listening, though I heard that it's dynamic range was reduced in peaks due to low capacity of batteries used. After I bought Philips HP890, i just can't allow myself to put that crappy old s**t on my head. Something can be evaluated in comparison. So, that old headset works at ~330 MHz and I think that could be the reason for unforgettable and "outstanding" noise level. More or less you could listen to it just in the room in which the transmitter is located, or in the next room with not too thick wall between. Signal level falls quite rapidly. First, increased noise, then you lose stereo, and then increasing noise shuts up the music. No low frequencies from 100 Hz and no high from about 8-9 KHz. I dunno, maybe for years of progress they have learned how to make good wireless headsets, but if I were to choose, I would take wired ones. Or maybe wireless, if it could digitally transmit signal, Wi-Fi-like.

I'm also interested into this topic, and it seems to be the only one about wireless headset. What about some newer ones, Senheiser or whatever? I really need some to play
Stepmania without making noise.

I wouldn't want them as my only pair, but Sennheiser makes some decent ones. They use RF on around 900 mhz, transmitting as FM stereo. 3 channels to choose from, MiMH batteries recharge when you put the phones on the base station. You can get an extra battery to recharge while you are using them. I got them in 2000 for about $100. THere is more competition now so the price may have come down.
