Hi,
I´m looking for a simple and free tool that will search a folder and it´s sub-folders for mp3s and create playlists
a) in each folder
b) in the root dir
Every playlist should contain the mp3´s of one folder and should be named <artist> - <album-name>.
The problem I see: I store my mp3´s the following way
Artist
_____Album-Name
_____Album-Name
_____Album-Name
Artist
_____Album-Name
Basicly the tool could get the name-information from the id3-tag of i.e. the first mp3 in a folder, but various-artists-albums would cause problems then.
Thanks for any hints
Campari
a nice player/mixer called TPlayer with the playlist or songlist organized the way you're looking for can be found

Thank you all, guys!
Have been a member for only a few days now but must say in 7 online-years I never have seen a board where answers come so quickly and precisely.
Only thing: I could not figure out yet how to use Tag to create the playlists in the root-dir.
Thanks again
Campari

From the frontend it's currently not possible, from commandline you can use switch --oneplaylist.

I found the oneplylist-switch, but I want to have separate playlists in the root-dir :-)

Aha... Download
this version, I included support for what you need. New switch is --playlists.

No problem. It was very easy to add that feature.
