For any audio playback, what I get is squeaks and static. Everything is up to date and the latest drivers are installed. WTF is going on?

That is weird. I have an echo indigo and haven't had any issues at all. Do you have any other PCMCIA cards installed? Have you tried it in another laptop? I really have had no complaints at all about my card other than it SUCKS the battery out of a laptop in no time!

Well, I found wtf was wrong. Irq sharing. It isn't fixable, so I RMAd the indigo and am looking into similarly priced usb solutions.
