Hydrogenaudio Forums > Hydrogenaudio Forum > General Audio
dr.zick
i am currently working on a site that will house a listing of my music library (for personal use, not public download ... i don't feel like dealing with the riaa).

i am looking for logos for the formats i use, so that i can provide links to the websites of those formats. you know, be nice to my friends in the music industry.

i am also looking for vector versions of the logos ... eps, ai, etc.

i have a logo for flac, the ones i'm looking for are:
1) mp3 (if an official one actually exists)
2) mp4
3) aac
4) ogg-vorbis

thanks for anyone who's got links to logos.

Call me biased, but I really like the ones that come with foobar... They are all more or less alike, but they are different enough to see the difference between the different formats... In one word, perfect... smile.gif

Jan S has some nice icons in his AudioIcons package.

I'd prefer Quantumknot's avatar as Vorbis symbol (hopefully xiph or he allow the use of it smile.gif): user posted image

That´s the logo for xiph.org, not the logo for Vorbis.

...I tried to get it to look like the old "Compact Disc Audio" logo... but a little more modern for estetic needs... smile.gif

A while back both sacrat and I spent a few weekends assembling/compiling/reworking a plethora of audio-related icons, which Jan S was kind enough to distribute in a self-installing, custimizable AudioIcon Pack.

Several of those icons should probably be updated (one of the AAC icons was based on the Psytel logo, and Ivan has since gone to work for Nero...), but you can get a feel for much of what is included on the preview page. Sacrat did the "Windows XP tab" style icons, and I did the others shown there; I believe the installer includes more of sacrat's icons than are shown, but the page should be enough to give you an idea of what's already been done.

I am not sure which icons are currently used with foobar2000, since I haven't updated my copy of it in quite a loooonnnnnnngg time (the last time I downloaded it, you could still download a ZIP version, sans installer). Around the same time I did the audio icons I also sent Peter a set of possible icons for foobar2000 itself, with ":B" on a CD-background, but the only place I've ever seen those used (assuming it really was the icons I did, and not just a remarkably similar but fairly predictable design) is in the JAWS (JustAnotherWindowShade) skin from the :B foobarlooks page.
