I bought a nice Sony Walkman D-NE511 (german amazon) and for the price it's quite alright.
My problem is: I burned some CD's with MP3's and for no obvious reason the player refuses to read some of them (I couldn't find any abnormality since all are properly tagged and a "Fix Header..." doesn't change anything).
What could cause such behavior? btw the player doesn'T just skip the tracks but stops there...very annoying due to the lack of a remote control!

Any idea?

I think Sony's MP3-CD players have trouble with some MPEG version 2 or 2.5 files?

Or those "MP3's" might actually be something else like WMA's... ?

Definitely no wma's. Pure mp3.

And yet it could be a problem with ID3 tags. Have u tried removing them altogether, or better yet, re-ripping and re-encoding without tagging?

no, didn't - to much work really - have important things to do: bbq! biggrin.gif

But you expect people here to spend time fixing your problem?

it might simply be a folder problem. try to put some mp3 in a root directory of a cd...
