Need software, that would tag JUST files (not CDs) from CDDB 2 and Music Brainz

Maybe, from CDDB 1 also. There are plenty that tag from freedb...

Is Helium capable to do it?

Is Helium capable to do it?

Nope - Helium2 currently supports only MP3, MPC, OGG and WMA files.

Edit: Why do you need an application which uses CDDB instead of freedb?

The latest Tag&Rename supports ape and has a freedb lookup capability.

I use an older version and it's excellent software. smile.gif

Edit - does it have to be cddb?

1. The info at cddb is more thourough
2. There are less typos there
3. I haven't found lots of CDs in freedb

Is there ANY SOFTWARE that would just tag ANY FILES (I can encode my albums to mp3 for it) (not discs) FROM CDDB?
(When talking about files I mean folders with every track of entire album)

Yes, Helium2 uses Gracenote CDDB.

I don't like Helium very much... E.g. it has this dreadful built-in player, don't now, how to get rid of it and to use foobar instead...
I'm going to try Media Catalog Studio instead... BTW, any alternatives?

I don't use Helium2, but according to the recent changelog it has

foobar2000 AFAIK

Gracenote CDDB != freedb

What do you mean?

Probably just pointing out that foobar2000 isn't a solution, as it uses freedb and not Gracenote CDDB.

Btw: "!=" means "not equal". In this case it just means: "Gracenote CDDB is not the same as freedb."

Perhaps Helium2 its worth a look:
New: APE2 tag read/write support
New: Support for MP3 tagging with ID3v1/APE2 (optionally)
