Masstagger > Rename files

'replace _ with white space' : $replace(%_filename%,_, )

works quite fine.

'only 1st letter uppercase' : $caps(%_filename%)

doesn't work although preview shows the correct result.

As I started to completly change to masstagger (no other tagger for proper tagging and renaming) I had to realize that you have to take a lot of steps to be satisfied.

Better (and that's my Request as I want to use foobar hyper-fast and powerfull):

Masstagger is one dialog, 'edit tags' is a tab and 'rename files' is the 2nd tab.
Files to process is like now, but every file has a small box in front where to set a check mark (standard: all check marks are set), small button to chech/uncheck all boxes.
(left side: 2tabs - tag / rename ; right side: files to process - still like it is now)

I think this is due to the fact that foobar file handling and the masstagger treat filenames and paths as entirely caps insensitive.

I'm pretty sure you can actually thank Windows for that.

Along the same line, I've found that masstagger no longer correctly converts upper case to lower case if the filename is otherwise identical; e.g., Son Of A Gun > Son of a Gun doesn't work although it shows up properly in the preview window. Was not a problem in previous version.

I bet this is a problem of FAT32. If foobar2000's behaviour did change, (and I doubt that,) I bet the current behaviour is the correct one.

If you want to work around the bug, rename it to "renamethis $caps(%_filename%)" and then rename it to "$replace(%_filename%,renamethis ,)"
