Full Version: Free Audio Convert Software ?

Hi,

I'm looking for a free audio convert software to reencode my files from any formats to mostly mp3 or wma.
MP3 because it's readable by all my devices (ex: Audio/video player in the living room), and WMA because it seems to use less space for the same quality (ex: USBKey MP3/wma player).

I've read the faq, but didn't find a topic on that subject (software?).

Thank you.

Thank you.

I thought this one was a shareware, but indeed, there seems to be a free version which will fit all my expectations.

DB Poweramp is good for file conversions. But, before you jump into using WMA, you might want to look around HA a bit to get some other ideas. In a recent listening test presented by HA's rjamorim, WMA did not do very well compared to MP3, ogg vorbis, AAC and MPC. This place is chock full of resources. It may not change your life, but it could improve the quality of any music you rip or compress.

I intend to use wma only on my mp3 player (Muvo NX), and the file sizes matter in this case.
Otherwise, I mostly prefer MPC (or OGG).

I think I won't be able to hear a difference playing mp3 or wma on my MP3 player. That's why I want to convert to wma.
