I got the same song ripped twice with EAC, each with the tag name being different. Actually wanted to see if my player showed them differently, Anyway i got to looking at the file details on the player, and i dont understand whats going on..

Orgininal file is (on the hard drive)
Mp3 details for both
6:11 Long
212 Bitrate
9622 kb
Alt Preset Standard

I sent the first mp3 to the player via Creative media source Organizer
Looking at the file details on the player ive got
6:09
192 kbps 44 khz

I sent the second mp3 to the player via windows explorer
Looking at the file details on the player ive got
6:09
224 kbps 44 khz

I also sent the first mp3 to the player via windows explorer
Looking at the file details on the player ive got
6:09
256 kbps 44 khz


Why the difference in time and kbps?

Aside from just not being able to read VBR track time correctly I don't know if there would be another problem. Do they playback the right length? Did you have the --nogap switch on? That always messed up my track time display in any player.

i owned a njb1 from creative and it never displayed vbr properly. it played all files flawlessly however. as long as files play ok, i dont see what the problem can be with a bitrate not indentified as vbr...
