We've updated the forum software to the latest version, which brings a significant number of changes. There are a lot of nice new features to play with, and a lot of the user interface elements are much more refined in general.
As for the migration to this software, most things should be working pretty well. There are a few issues that are known about which will be corrected shortly. Among them are attachment uploading (some filetypes will not work yet), the subscription manager (this may not work, I would advise against using it temporarily), RSS feeds, etc. There may be a few cosmetic issues here and there as well. Feel free to post bug reports here if you encounter something.
I also want to thank the other mods and admins who helped me test out the new software -- they definitely made things a little easier for me : )

I quite like it. It sure does look good

. It seems a bit slow though.
EDIT: Nope, it is quite fast now. I forgot I was downloading at the time, whoops
.
Nice and fast here, Dibrom. Keep on rockin'.

I can't seem to get to the foobar2000 forums. I click on the foobar2000 forums link and it takes me back to the main homepage.
Any ideas?
I do like the new version. Doesn't seem slow to me.

Switching to foobar2000 topics works good for me.
One thing: could you (Dibrom or JohnV) activate fast reply on all forums and subforums?
Edit: Some emoticons don't work.

http://www.gochnauer.orgThanks. The redirect is fixed now, but it will probably require a browser cache flush for it to work for you.

Yes, the fast reply thing will be enabled. I don't have time to do it right now cause I'm about to leave, but either someone else will get to it, or I'll do it a little later.
Problem with the emoticons is known about -- will also be fixed.
Oh, and before someone else adds it to the list, active topics requires you to be logged in now. This is the default behavior of the forum software for what it's worth.
Mmm multi-quotes, yummy.
However the new skin could be a little more conservative with screen real estate. Especially the member info box and avatar displayed next to each post and the active topics list on the portal could take up less vertical space.

Nice!
The "My Assistant" button on the front page doesn't work (opens a new window, but with the portal page); on the other pages (forum view for example) it works fine.
For some reason the mp3, aac, ogg vorbis, and mpc forums do not show up for me when I go to look at the forum index. Anyone else with this problem?

Yep, it seems to be due to the difference between

and
CODE

.

This was a permissions problem. Should be fixed now.
I noticed in a lot of places I see stuff like "smile.gif" instead of the actual smilie, is there something in the settings that we should change to see them? or did file names change?

see smile works fine with this post.
Why do some [ code] boxes look differen't than the others?
Some of them look like they used to look before (see
here) and some look much cooler (like in kjoonlee's post in this thread).
edit: Also some quotes seem to look like they did before (see the same thread).

You can update your post to new rendering by hitting the edit button and saving the post again.

Well I think most of the problems is due to the modifications having to be added again.
Not really bugs in the software itself. We have quite a list of things that needs to be update... but Dibrom needs to sleep sometimes so things will get updated as he finds time.
edit: for now he concentrated on fixing security issues first. The rest will come little by little.

Much more streamlined and just ummm better on the eyes, and better usage of the screen-realestate imo.

Umm... new features are a good thing, but can't we have an old-styled GUI?
(not that it matters, but I hate changes

...you know, I got used to how she looks

)
EDIT: and will HA logo be on the top again? There's a Terms Of Service and stuff bar on the top now, which looks bad IMO...
And the text on new buttons is pretty unreadable - font is too small

All links on HA threads don't work anymore because of the added "forums" directory. Also, the file show.php which allowed short links like

As was mentioned this can be pretty much fixed with an SQL query. I'll run that now. The rest of the stuff I'll have to do after classes.

http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=Do you have an idea how many sites refer to Hydrogenaudio threads? Do you expect them all to be updated? It should be much easier to restore the original directory structure instead of expecting all other sites to adapt. I'm not in the position of demanding for that of course, but running an Invisionboard myself I don't consider it as a time-consuming or overstraining task - much easier than answering to the same error reports over and over again at least, which HA is going to receive if this problem shouldn't be fixed.
To the admins: was the subfolder chosen for a specific reason?
Edit: This SQL query would fix internal links, but what about other websites that link to Hydrogenaudio?
Edit2: If somebody should need the query for his own IPB:
SQL
UPDATE ibf_posts SET post=REPLACE(post,'hydrogenaudio.org/index.php', 'hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php') WHERE post LIKE '%hydrogenaudio.org/index.php%'

Before everyone gets all excited, the old forum linking scheme still works (with show.php -- the same method that google links to the board).
Yes, the subdirectory was chosen for a reason.
And running HA is not exactly the easiest thing. It's also definitely not the same as running a smaller forum...

Edit: If there are still serious problems with the linking setup (I've only had a few minutes to mess with it before class), I can do a few other things later.

Wow, nice suprise when I woke up this morning.
Is it possible to bring the old method of qoutes (where there was a seperate box for the quote)? Also, what about adding a reply box at the bottom of each thread (like in VBulletin? Don't know if it's possible)
Not trying to be picky, i realize the amount of work everyone has but into HA.

Old-style board functionality is mostly not possible, at least not without dropping support for the newer features. Replies are put on the posts themselves to enforce the new threaded structure paradigm. I actually like this, so it's probably unlikely to go away.. sorry

Yes, the Lo-Fi version should be lighter on the server. Obviously you lose a lot of features if you go that way, but for mobile devices and slow connections, it should help a lot.

No, it just means that attachment uploading isn't working entirely yet.
There was some slight downtime a few minutes ago due to some webserver reconfiguration, so if anyone encountered a permission denied error for a couple of minutes, that's why.
I went ahead and implemented some url rewriting for the old link style when changing things, so older links (and links from external websites) should work again and point to the proper threads

LinkThis is unfortunately a side effect of trying to squeeze down the space used by the active topics section. There's probably not much I can do for this if I want to keep the display only two lines tall. This sort of thing shouldn't happen too often though -- probably only on poll threads many pages long. Of course, this sort of thing won't happen at a higher res either.

Aside from the fact that the current layout is the default setup for the forum software, I kind of like the visual separation myself. Putting all 3 bars together would look strange I think, and would make the interface less intuitive.
I think it's just a matter of the fact that people aren't used to this look.
