I would like to know if there is anyone interested in coding a directmusic plugin to support midi. Currently we only have support for DXi (foo_midi plugin) and most people do not own a DXi compatible softsynth/hardware and the few products that does support DXi are too expensive for the simple purpose of listening to a midi file. Directmusic should be better in this respect, supporting both hardware synthesizer and the deault Microsoft Synthesizer. I believe Peter coded the in_midi plugin for winamp, so it shouldn't be too hard for him to port that to foobar2000.
