Full Version: Alternative MP3 decoder for Winamp3?

Hi.
I'd like to know, if there's an alternative MP3 decoder (based on mpg123, MAD oder whatever) available for Winamp3.
The reason I ask is that I have a MP3 file that does not play in Winamp3 and causes a CPU utilisation of 100%.
There's no problem with Winamp2.

I have a decoder based on MPG123 here.

Compiled for Winamp3Beta build 479

But all documentation is in japanese, makes me wonder if the interface isn't in japanese too.

If you want it anyway, PM me your e-mail address.

Regards;

Roberto.

Thanks (once again biggrin.gif).
Well, the MP3 file does also not play with this plugin, but at least it just skips the file - instead of causing 100% CPU utilisation.
I just re-encoded the file using Winamp2 and the LAME-output plugin (I should've thought about it earlier smile.gif), but I keep the "broken" file for tests with future Winamp3 versions.

You can use the Winamp3 Plugin Manager with MAD, mpg123, Nitrane (but why?). Also it updates the output plugs too.
