I searched the forum but haven't found anything about such problem. Sorry, if I missed something...

I added this to ID3v2 COMMENT field with foobar2000 (0.8.2):

After that, foobar2000 shows it OK, but other programs show it cutting off "Cuong Vu: " and starting with "trumpet, vocals" etc. Tag&Rename 3.1 shows no comments at all.

I tried other settings in ID3v2 tag support page, tried Tag type to write = (ID3v2 and ID3v1) and (ID3v2 only), but it's all the same.

Am I doing something wrong or is it any bug?

Try http://www.rarewares.org/files/others/tag.zip to check what is actually in the file.

But for now I found that a colon character (":") causes this problem. The first colon in the comment, to be more exact. When I replace it with " - ", comment's text is trimmed up to the next available colon character.

Auto-description writing has been axed because it is just the sort of hack to break something like this. Please update to v1.16.
