Does anyone know more about RKau than the short help screen displayed when "RKau" is typed at the command prompt?

In particular, what is VRQ ?

And any information on the -q switch? (does it quantise the input or does it quantise the error?)

I have searched the web for documentation on RKau, but I can't find any. Lots of compression comparisons, but nothing about the way the options work!

I am not overly interested in -s (stereo) as my source is mono.

I haven't really played with the -t switch, I assume it allows seeking on playback.

There is a short readme.txt that comes with the latest executable. It contains this about the lossy modes:

CODE
-q[n]  This enables a naive lossy compression mode. It allows for a
maximum of n bits of error. This will ensure that the absolute
error is always less than 2^n, and on average should be much
      less.

-v[n]  This selects the Variable Rate Quantization (VRQ) mode. This
mode adapts the quantization rate to the volume of the music,
making the loss virtually unnoticable. The quality level is
specified by n which can range from 1 (low quality) to 8 (high
quality). If the level is omitted then it defaults to 1.

BTW, did you get the PM I sent you earlier this month?
