Coding Technologies anounced that the DVD-Forum has officially confirmed, that the MPEG-4 High Efficiency Advanced Audio Coding (HE-AAC = aacPlus) is mandatory for the "Compressed Zone" of DVD-Audio.
Already in March it has been told, that HE-AAC was accepted as the mandatory Codec for the ROM-Part of DVD-Audio, to transfer songs highly compressed, but secured with DMR, to protrable players. But now, the decission of the "Working Group 4" of the stering commission is not only fixed internal, but also official. HE-AAC can be licensed via Via Licensing (vza/c't)
