Full Version: How do you make the volume of an mp3 the same

I burned a CD and one thing that annoys me about it is that when the guy sings softly, you have to crank the volume to hear it, then you have to hurry up and crank it down at certain parts of the song otherwise your ears will fry. This is so annying. Is there any way to make all tracks on the audio one certain volume level? Instruments, voice, etc? So i can play it at a decent volume and still hear everything just fine without having to manually turn it up or down?

Most users of this forum don't like the process you described, since it destroys the dynamics of a song.
You could try foo_dynamics for fb2k if you look for an easy-to-use compressor solution.

A well written general introduction to dynamic compression techniques can be found here: http://www.propellerheads.se/home/discover...e&article=part3

You are gonna hafta read up a bit here if you want the answers. Start with the FAQ and maybe a search for dynamic compression

As for the .dll, it is the equivalent of an plugin for the audio player/recorder/bestfriend foobar2000. www.foobar2000.org

If you use winamp, there are dynamic compression plugins available, but none that I have tried really lived up to the hype. There is a new multiband dynamics plugin available http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....33&hl=multiband
that is supposed to be pretty good.
